This is a really nice picture. My eyes are first drawn towards the brightest of the picture, which is the yellow slide towards the bottom. This is somewhat of a close-up/ medium shot, because you can definitely tell that it is a playground, but can only see the top tier of it. The rails of the playground are leading lines for me to what is in the background, but it makes me frustrated because the top tier takes up the whole picture and you can't see any green except though the holes in between the rails. The lighting is a little grayish/ darker than most scenes, giving it an eerie deserted playground feel. It's a flat angle, almost letting us be able to climb into that playground ourself, and rustle the leaves on the floor. Wow this is long....GOOD JOB THOUGH!

This picture looks like it was taken by a professional!!! I really like the lighting. There's something about the way that autumn makes everything look a little dimmer, and yet still gives great light to a scene. The leaves on the slide make me think that the slide is unused, and hasn't been touched in a while. I like that it is a medium shot, because I can see some of the surroundings, but most of the slide. Great work!- Andrea L.

This is a great picture. At first I looked at the slide due to its color, but then the sides of the slide lead me to the leaves and the wood bars then lead me to the environment. The grey lighting makes it feel dreary and abandoned. I also like the neutral angle because it gives you the point of view of a child about to use the play set. The medium distance also gave you just enough environment to know what you’re looking at, but not to much so that it’s overwhelming. This picture was a great choice!

I agree with what others have said about the flat angle and the dim lighting. This photograph depicts an empty playground. Leaves have fallen and covered the structure, which show that people (especially children) haven't played there for a while. It's rather sad to see the playground- a place usually full of kids and fun- empty and desolate.

What really sticks out in this picture is the contrast between the color and the greys. There's a definate feeling of abandonment in this picture that comes through the piled up leaves and the grey wood, but also like it's been a much loved area because the red of the wheel and the yellow of the slide are so striking and feel like they've seen a lot of happy times as well. The medium shot is an interesting choice and in a way it makes you feel like you're looking at a cage or something because so much of the photo is of vertical lines.

Great picture Lida! The leading lines lead us from the slide to the wooden bars on the playground. The closeup and the flat angle show us the whole playground. I really like the lighting because I think the dark, gloomy color makes the picture feel like a fall day. The leaves just reinforce the whole "fall feeling. It almost seems as if it is a tree because of all the wood and leaves. I feel like a squirrel could pop out at any moment.

You've done it again Lida! I love the picture. First the slide and rails take your eye from the bottom of the page to the the middle where you see the rest of the jungle gym covered in leaves. The somewhat dismal natural lighting and, that even though there are fallen leaves and a yellow slide, the picture is mostly gray makes the jungle gym look abandoned and unused. Adding to that are all the fallen leaves that haven't been swept or raked away. It's a powerful picture.

The composition of the picture and the lighting of the picture really make the slide seem abandoned. The leaves on the top show that the slide hasn't been used for awhile and the lighting makes the picture more null of color which contributes to the abandoned look. This picture is showing that winter is starting soon because its too cold for kids to play outside anymore.

I really like the contrast of all of the lines in this picture. Both the rails and the slide create leading lines. The lighting also is kind of dim, like Emily said, creating a lonesome feeling of emptiness.
